Jennifer Aniston shows good sense of humor about break-ups at awards ceremony.
You gotta give Jennifer Aniston credit for having a great sense of humor about her not so great love life. Jen used being honored at the Women in Film Awards ceremony on Friday night as a chance to reflect on the impact her career choices may be having on her love life. But first, host Chelsea Handler set the tone as she presented the Crystal Award to Jen for expanding the role of women in the entertainment industry. Chelsea said, "You have increased the visibility of women in film, and we thank you for that. You've recently decreased the visibility of John Mayer, so we thank you for that."
Jen was laughing hysterically and as she took to the podium and she too wondered during her acceptance speech if perhaps her art was dictating her tumultuous dating life. "I have a strange parallel with movies I was doing and my life off screen. First, it was The Good Girl. . . which evolved into Rumor Has It, followed by Derailed," she said. "Then there was The Breakup followed by the lighter side, Friends With Money."
Ah yes, Jen was quite the good girl while married to Brad Pitt. It really did seem like their relationship was the stuff that fairy tales are based on. But then those nasty rumors started up that their perfect romance was on the rocks—and then things did become totally derailed when Angelina Jolie came into the picture. Not sure how Friends with Money fits into this, however, Jen does have a great support system from best friend Courteney Cox (and she’s definitely not hurting for cash). 5 Tips to Move On From a Painful Breakup
Jen took it a step further and ended her speech by putting it out there that she’s ready for the real deal. "If anyone has a movie called Everlasting Love With an Adult Stable Man, that would be great!"
