Jon insists that the two other women are 'just family friends' Kate knows them.
While everyone holds their breath to see if Jon and Kate (and their extremely lucrative reality tv show Jon & Kate Plus 8) will make it, the saga of Jon and Kate Gosselin's marriage continues. Even though both husband and wife vehemently denied their alleged respective affairs, the cracks in this marriage have become crystal clear—not just to the world at large, but also to them.
As we reported last week, the season 5 premier of the TLC show had Kate admitting that she didn't know how much longer the two of them would be together and that the rumors of the affairs and her busy schedule have taken a toll on their marriage. Close on the heels of Kate's confession, Jon has been spotted out and about with various female companions. While Kate plus their eight have been on a 'working vacation' in North Carolina (with camera crews in tow of course, diligently photographing Kate and the kids frolicking on the beach), Jon was spotted on two occasions with female 'companions.' The first time was over Memorial Day weekend; this past weekend he was seen shopping it up in a New Jersey mall with two ladies.
However, Jon vehemently denies any hanky-panky and insists that both the ladies are friends of his and Kate's. He tells People magazine, ''The two women with whom I've been photographed are family friends—Lauren Glassman and Lauren's daughter, Hailey.''
''Lauren's husband, Dr. Larry Glassman, performed Kate's tummy tuck surgery, and since the surgery we've become friendly with the Glassmans.''
While this may or may not be true, the real questions seem to be—will they make it? Will they force themselves to stay together just to keep the show? After all, the moolah's got to come from somewhere right? Or maybe, just maybe—show be damned—they'll decide to make it work for the sake of their eight kids.
