Angelina Catches Brad With Jen?

We know we shouldn't get excited when we see tabloid headlines about Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie. We know that most of the nonsense surrounding these three is completely made up. And we know that no matter how many years pass and how much the primary players claim they've moved on, that the rags will behave as though the drama that we shall refer to from this point forward as Brangeniston (feel free to borrow it, just give us credit) is ongoing and, in fact will not be over, even after all three are dead and buried (we can already picture it: "Secret sources say undead Jen wants to eat undead Brad's brains, much to zombie Angelina's irritation!").

The point: Yes, we know these stories are stupid. And yet, we cannot resist them.

The latest, from our friends at Star really got us jumping up and down in the grocery store checkout line. The cover features Jen, looking over her shoulder as if she's just been caught doing something shamefully human, like buying toilet paper. A small inset picture of Angie, looking fierce and beautiful, is planted in Jen's perfect hair. And thrown on top of all this are the words "Exclusive: Angie Walks In On Jen and Brad!" Bette Midler's Dating Advice To Jennifer Aniston

We furiously paged through the magazine, trying to learn all the details before the cashier got to our Doritos and ice cream. But once we reached the full story, we couldn't help but be disappointed. Yes, Angie caught Brad in with Jen. But he wasn't giving her a full body massage or checking her backside of cancerous moles. He was (gasp) talking with her on the kitchen phone.

Ugh.

Of course, Star's sources say that the supposed phone conversation was enough to cause a huge domestic dispute. "Angie totally flipped out. She slammed her hand on the counter and stormed out of the room."

We love that the source knows about how Angie took her rage out on the countertop.

In any event, while the latest Brangeniston cover of Star really went too far with its headline, the article itself got us to thinking that maybe the rags might actually have some truth in them from time to time. It seems totally plausible that Brad would talk on the phone occasionally with Jen (partly because they have friends in common and partly because they used to be married and partly because Brad seems a little stupid when it comes to women). It also seems plausible that Angie has a short fuse and that, in fits of jealousy, she might slam her hand down on the nearest flat surface (such as a kitchen counter).

Thus, in this particular case, we are inclined to believe Star. At least a little bit. But don't count on this happening again anytime soon. Next week, they will probably be reporting on how Angelina and Brad have offered to donate embryos to Jen so that she doesn't have to die childless and alone.
