Jon & Kate Agree To Counseling But Want It On TV

Is this a last chance attempt to save their marriage or just their hit show?

Jon and Kate Gosselin are seeing a marriage counselor, says The National Enquirer, and we can't say we blame them. How the couple managed to raise 8 children together without regular respites on a therapist's couch is beyond us. And plus, there's all those swirling rumors about Jon cheating on Kate with a 23-year-old and Kate getting cozy with her personal bodyguard. Heck, they should be seeing 3 marriage counselors by now. Read: 3 Reasons To Seek Couples Therapy

The question as to whether or not TLC will foot the bill for said therapy remains unanswered but since the television network has already shelled out big bucks for their $1.12 million dollar home, their lavish vacations and Kate's oh-so-fashionable haircuts, it's likely that they will somehow supplement the therapy as well.

In fact, Kate is betting that by televising the couple's marriage meltdowns, her and her brood will bank more big money and big opportunity. "Kate wants a future in showbiz, and airing their counseling sessions will shoot the show's ratings through the roof," said an insider close to the couple. "Jon was all for counseling, but Kate thought their marriage might be too far gone." Until that is, she realized that the TLC cash cow was almost out of milk.

TLC is a family network and airing the couple's dirty laundry could promote endless discussion among the millions of other couples struggling to stay faithful to their spouse. But so far, all of this Jon & Kate drama has only worked to bring down the credibility of a show about one big happy family. "It's make-or-break time for Jon and Kate, and counseling may be the only hope they have to repair their shattered marriage," said the same insider.

Either those two are insane or the whole break-up was orchestrated.

I'm going to find a copy of the movie "Truman" and watch it again.

I still think this is all some sort of crazy orchestrated plot. I'm with you! It's very Truman Show-esque

My money is on insane. First, you put all your dirty laundry out to air on national tv, and then you want to show all the real work that should JUST be going on between the two of them and their counselor for more kicks!?!?

I don't think the most perfect married couple in the world could sustain their marriage if they broadcasted it and had a camera crew around every second of their lives.

Just another example of how money can kill a relationship, and separate "churchgoers" from God.

When the show first began airing, the Gosselin family presented themselves as church-goers. I can only imagine how fully strained a married life with 8 very young children must present itself challenging to say the least. I would hope, and pray, that they return to the spiritual mirror of looking at their marriage rather than tabloid, family or even my blatherings. They can be reconciled and find happiness again, but having been there once and being there again, I know it takes much work and even more prayer. Jon, Kate, God bless you both.
