Adam Lambert Introduces Boyfriend
American Idol finalist shows off his man to fellow contestants.
The lavishly guylinered American Idol finalist Adam Lambert introduced a fellow as his boyfriend at a dinner with other Idol contestants at Outback Steakhouse in Burbank last Saturday night, the New York Daily News reports. According to Perez Hilton, Adam's gentleman friend is named Drake.
Adam and Drake feasted, we assume, on Bloomin' Onions and shrimp on the barbie with fellow AIers Anoop Desai and Megan Joy Corkrey. The Daily News says Anoop and Megan, who were eliminated April 22 and April 1, respectively, are also dating, which is nothing new for American Idols. Several websites reported in March that Adam had been dating a performer named Brad Bell, also known as Cheeks, but their relationship reportedly ended before American Idol began.
Adam will face off against Kris Allen in the first part of tonight's finale. Barring any catastrophic flatiron accidents, his path to victory seems clear, which would make Adam the eighth American Idol and the first openly gay winner. Kris has an ace up his sleeve, however: In his hometown of Conway, Arkansas, a local restaurant, Stoby's, is giving away free cheese dip all day today and in honor of the finale. Good luck, guys. Freddie Mercury - major superstar (ok, I'm stuck in the 70's), VERY gay, VERY out, VERY talented (also very dead) but, wasn't Adam amazing singing with (what remains of) Queen last night??? And, gee, KISS? I'm kinda feeling that since BOTH of those great 70's-80's groups are re-grouping for a comeback/farewell tour that we just might see Adam singing "I am the champion of the world"..... who knows? By NOT winning American Idol, I feel that Adam was handed a HUGE favor, and not a HUGE contract that he'd have to be forced to honor. Why do you think Simon was not standing up? He knew that Adam would've been as great or greater than Carrie.
And, Oaktown, soundman rockstar wannabe: since when does one's sexual orientation diminish a status? I'll bet you all the sound equipment in the world that Adam is going to reach superstardom. Lyz is not an idiot. Just slapping you a with a bit of information that totally contradicted your post.

Hey, it is 2009, most intelligent people are focused on the talent, caliber and capabilities of the artist and not who they sleep with. Straight rockers lead a life of sexual debauchery with their groupies and we still buy their songs and attend their concerts. I don't think Adam being Gay will influence me enjoying his music. Most informed and intelligent people no longer believe that gays are sick, deviant or morally corrupt or that being gay is a choice. Most of us now know gay people and find them to be just the same as everyone else except they are attracted to their own sex. So what. Get over it.
Look idiot, where did I say I had a problem with Adam's sexual orientation or talent? All I said was he won't reach certain superstar status that he would if he was straight. I also gave you some legendary artists as examples. If you're gay relax, don't get so uptight that you miss a whole point!!!! INHALE EXHALE
Adam coming out of the closet will definitely deminish his SUPER rockstar status to just HO HUM rock star. It's like if Steve Perry of Journey, Elvis Presley,or Steve tyler of Aerosmith came out as gay, they would not be who they are today. Food for thought-Why do you think a lot of the women at rock concerts are screaming and then waiting backstage? Take it from me, a current sound man who tours with a well known artist. It's not to get autographs. Right now the American Idol producers are shifting from earlier thoughts of matching Adam's good looks with hot chicks to market his Rockstar status.
