Tennesseans Save Kissing For Marriage
Taking virginity to a whole new level.

We all have our own moral code that we follow when it comes to sex, whether it's to wait a month or two before sleeping with a new partner, to do it whenever it "feels right," or to save sex for marriage. While today's media often depicts society as being free and open about sex, with those Gossip Girl hooligans shacking up with a new partner every week, it turns out some people are even saving kissing for marriage. That's right, kissing.

We suppose that makes locking eyes first base, hand-holding second, and hugging a sensual third base activity?

Nashville's daily paper, The Tennessean, reported that some Tennesseans are saving their first kiss for their wedding ceremony. This practice is known as the Virgin Lips Movement.Read: Susan Boyle To Get Her First Kiss?

Southern Baptist Theological Seminary President R. Albert Mohler Jr.  said, "There is no explicit biblical ban on premarital kissing, but any honest person knows that there are kisses that can only be considered sexual, naturally leading to the sex act itself."

According to Alec Cort, Tulip Grove Baptist Minister, about 20 kids have asked to make the no kissing pact in the 15 years he's worked with teenagers. This roughly figures out to mean about 1.3 kids a year make the commitment to have virgin lips until they say "I Do." We wonder if members of the Virgin Lips Movement have qualms about marrying someone a bit more promiscuous than they are (read: those who've locked lips before marriage).

While marrying a member of the Virgin Lips Movement might guarantee your wedding kiss will be memorable, it may be so for the wrong reasons. Larry Harold, Virgin Lips Movement advocate said his wife described their first kiss as "Pretty slobbery, but what do you do. I definitely needed practice." Read: How To Kiss Well

To be fair, Larry's wife, Elaine, also noted that, "It was very special to know that was something we saved and no one can take that away from us."

This in a world where Lindsay Lohan is wondering who her baby daddy is and people are selling their virginity online for sport. No kidding.
