Despite a string of hunky beaus, the star believes she's better off alone.
Standing up for single girls everywhere, Mean Girls star Rachel McAdams tells Starpulse that she loves being single and is taking it as an opportunity to learn more about herself.
"I'm loving my independence. I think it is important for a woman to be alone for a year or so. You need to learn who you are," Rachel said. Read: Break Up Etiquette: Dividing Your Friends
Though rumors have circulated that Rachel has been seen canoodling with Josh Lucas, Rachel claims she has been single since her last relationship with on-again off-again beau Ryan Gosling. The pair broke up in November after reuniting briefly for four months. Read: Single: You aren't incomplete
Despite Rachel’s journey for independence, we believe there still might be something between The Notebook co-stars. After all, Ryan claimed back in 2007 that their relationship was more epic than the movie plotline itself.
And may we remind you that this was the movie where Ryan’s character, Noah, builds his first love, Allie, her dream house, despite never knowing if he’d ever see her again. A little obsessive? Yes. Romantic? Definitely.
"People do Rachel and me a disservice by assuming we were anything like the people in that movie. Rachel and my love story is a hell of a lot more romantic than that," Ryan told People.com in October 2007.
For now though, Rachel seems happy and content to be on her own, no man attached.
