Katie Price, a British glamour (that means topless, American friends) model sometimes called Jordan, and her excessively spray-tanned husband, Peter Andre, are divorcing after almost five years of marriage, The Daily Mail reports. Equine enthusiast Katie and hilarious Disney cover artist Peter, who met on the UK version of I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! in 2004, announced Monday that they would end their marriage. They issued an uncharacteristically understated press release saying, "They have both requested that the media respect their families' privacy at this difficult time." So there really is a first time for everything.

Although the couple was photographed holding hands while leaving London's Nobu on Saturday night, and Peter helped Katie finish the London marathon (in just over seven hours) last month after she injured her knee mid-race, rumors have flown for months about the troubled state of their marriage. Their relationship has been the focus of a series of insanely warts-and-all reality shows that began airing in the US in 2007, and the couple have two children together, Junior and Princess Tiaamii (no, really), as well as Katie's son from a previous relationship, Harvey. To be perfectly honest, we are devastated by the news of Katie and Peter's breakup, and we don't think we're alone. There must be literally dozens of paparazzi who are doubting where their next paycheck will come from now that they can't camp outside the Mystic Tan and wait for the pair to emerge from their couples' bronzing appointments. And we are sincerely sad for their children, because despite their famewhoring, hideous duets, and penchant for eye-searingly obscene fashion statements, Peter and Katie seem like good parents, and divorce just sucks for any kid.

We are holding out hope that the E! channel will pony up the cash for couples' therapy and bring these two lovebirds back together very, very quickly. We cannot afford to lose one of our greatest and most colorful celebrity couples during these hideous economic times. Think of the bloggers!
