Seven months after her boyfriend, David Otunga, popped the question, Jennifer Hudson struck a blow for gender equality and asked him to marry her right back, with a stunning piece of jewelry to sweeten the deal. "Jennifer wanted to give him something really special when she asked David to marry her," Lane told People. "It was very sentimental and romantic ... They are really in love."
Jennifer and David, who appeared on VH1's I Love New York 2 and is training to be a professional wrestler, have been dating since last year. He proposed in September, on her 27th birthday, and Hudson told People that he went the traditional route, asking her mother for permission just a few weeks before the October murders of Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, her brother, Jason, and nephew, Julian King, in Chicago.
The upcoming marriage is certainly happier news for Jennifer and David, as are the rumors, reported on Essence.com last month, that Jennifer is expecting. Jennifer hasn't confirmed the baby gossip, but she's kind of busy, designing wedding rings, planning the ceremony, and touring with Robin Thicke. Jennifer will be on the Today Show May 15, so maybe there will be a joyful announcement then. Either way, we wish Jennifer and David all the happiness in the world.
