Thanks for this mini wake-up call. I can approach guys, but after that I feel that it all up to him to make the romantic moves. It gets frustrating, and I see more clearly now that I have been viewing my love life from the sidelines. I'm the starting lineup, darn it! :)

A little known secret weapon can be the "sick" or "early morning, been awake for 5 minutes" voice. I worked a graveyard shift in my early twenties and once got a wrong number call while I was at work, about 3 am. I was sick (not nasal though) and answered, found out it was a wrong number, and then she proceeded to hit on me because she thought I sounded really sexy (she sounded cute). I was in a relationship at the time, so no hook up (strangely, i don't feel at all bad about that). I have a just-woke-up-5-minutes-ago voice that sounds a lot like my sick voice that has also made my SO's knees quiver. Its a bit on the deeper side, a little husky (not to be confused with raspy), so don't knock the altered voices entirely. On the norm, my SO finds my voice soothing...nothing like a verbal massage before a physical massage before happy time!

That's okay advice, but I don't have *time* to make myself look sexy before I pick up the time; I'd be more inclined just to make sure that I don't have food in my mouth and that I'm not talking too fast or sounding cranky.
I know, but it does work. My guy can always hear when I'm smiling when we're on the phone.
