The Samantha Who? star revealed to the magazine that she's hoping her relationship with Dutch bass player Martyn Lenoble will "last forever." "I'm very grateful to Martyn for coming along at a time that he did because he's been my rock through all of this," Applegate said referring to her recent battle with breast cancer. "He gave me something to really want to live for and something to smile about."
That smile is unmistakable and has sparked rumors that the couple is planning to wed in the near future. Although Applegate was married once before, she's proven that resiliency is her strong suit. Read: Divorce Can Be a Laugh Riot
After making a sudden decision to have a double mastectomy, Applegate went on to undergo reconstructive surgery as well and all under the public eye. "I started looking for a beach house the day I found out I had this little disease," she told Us Weekly back in 2008. "You just kind of go, 'What are you waiting for to get the things that you want and the things you dream of?" Applegate now shares that beach house with her rocker boyfriend whom she also calls her “angel.”
If the couple does wed, Applegate's ex, actor Johnathon Schaech, is sure to be in attendance. The duo remained friends even after their four-year marriage dissolved. So friendly were they in fact, that random and very public make out sessions ensued even after the divorce. "They just made out all of a sudden," an observer told People after the former couple unexpectedly ran into each other at a night club back in 2007. But it's clearly Martyn Lenoble that is the apple of her Christina's eye now. "He's been a friend for about 13 years," Applegate said. "Our relationship gets stronger and stronger. I'm really lucky."
