4 Reasons To Date The Unemployed

Seeking men to date? Start with those recently laid off.

Historically when a woman found out a man she wanted to date was unemployed, she would go running for the hills. But these days, with the recession affecting people in all professions, many recently laid-off men actually make very promising boyfriends. Chances are high that these men worked in law, banking, or another field that requires a decent amount of education, intelligence, and motivation.

While these men may fall into the dreaded unemployed category, they are still desirable, and maybe even more desirable than men who still have jobs. Here are four reasons why starting to date someone who's been laid off can actually be better than someone who has to go to work every day.

1. He'll have more time to think about you. He should be able to come up with many fun and interesting (and cheap!) dates for the two of you as you explore your budding relationship. Watch: Recession Romance Ideas

2. He'll work out more and actually lose the extra weight he gained from sitting in an office all day.

3. He'll take up exciting hobbies like cooking or beer-brewing, something he's always wanted to do, and something that will benefit you.

4. He'll write that book he's always thought about and end up a famous author. You'll have been the one who supported his dream from the beginning (and get to enjoy his royalty checks with him)!

So while the jobless usually get the short end of the stick from women when it comes to starting a relationship, in these tough times no one can afford to be picky. Go out and find a man who's been laid off and remember these benefits when his unemployment runs out in six to nine months!

Can you relate?

I disagree. I don't think they sit around and play video games all day. My brother is unemployed and in addition to looking for jobs he's volunteering with a local community center, working out and reading a lot of books. He says he's going to come out of this recession smarter. I love that!

LOL! This artical is hillarious! Really what they'll do is hang out and play video games all day, or never want to go out because they'll feel bad that you make more money. Either way you can't win. Now if you're already dating a guy and he gets laid off fine, stick with him but to start a relationship with the unemployed... forget it

Well im a guy and ive been unemployed since july. Ya i might be sitting around playing video games sometimes but ive also been looking for jobs and they are very hard to come by now-a-days. Im not talking about the jobs you can get at fast food or places like that. Im talking about the real jobs like for actual companies. Im the same person when i had the job as opposed to now when i dont have the job. It sounds to me like you stearo type guys as being lazy. Which is not the case with all guys. So your telling me that you wouldnt give me a shot a few weeks ago when i didnt have a job as opposed to now when i start my new job after thankgiving. Ill just leave that one out there for you to think about.
