Recessionista Barrymore shows us how to conserve by recycling boyfriends.
Who says celebrities don't know how to conserve? Drew Barrymore has spent the week setting a perfectly frugal example by hanging out with two of her ex-boyfriends rather than tapping into Hollywood's precious, dwindling resources of fresh boytoys—although we would totally love it if those rumors of her and Chuck Bass turned out to be true.
The New York Post spotted Drew having drinks and dinner Saturday night in New York with Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti, whom she dated from 2002 to 2007. The two have been seen together several times since their breakup, and have said that they are still friends. On Tuesday she hung out with Justin Long, her costar in He's Just Not That Into You and the upcoming Going the Distance, at the premiere of the HBO movie Grey Gardens, in which Drew plays "Little" Edie Beale alongside Jessica Lange. Drew and Apple pitchman Justin met while shooting He's Just Not That Into You in 2007 and broke up last fall.
We can't fault Drew for any impulse she might have to get back together with an ex; after all, during horribly uncertain times, people want comfort, like macaroni and cheese, movies based on Nicholas Sparks books, and familiar sex with folks whose siblings' names you've already memorized. And if she decides to continue with this trend of ex-boyfriend salvage, may we recommend Tom Green, rather than five-minute first husband Jeremy Thomas? Tom always seemed like a nice fellow when he wasn't putting his bum on things, and he's been dealing with Donald Trump's nonsense lately, so he deserves some TLC.
