The supermodel claims that the son of her new husband is like her own.
Gisele Bundchen seems to have taken to her role as a stepmother pretty quickly. The supermodel evidently adores her new role as stepmom to John Edward Thomas Moynahan, the son of her new husband, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and actress Bridget Moynahan who was born in 2007. Gisele is quoted in the May Vanity Fair as saying, "I understand that he has a mom, and I respect that, but to me it's not like because somebody else delivered him, that's not my child. I feel it is, 100 percent. I want him to have a great relationship with his mom, because that's important, but I love him the same way as if he were mine."
Even though we all know how hard it is to assume the role of stepmother, the Brady/Moynahan/Bundchen situation is slightly different: Moynahan discovered she was pregnant with Brady’s baby after he had broken off the relationship and started dating Bundchen. The supermodel says of the situation, "In the beginning you're living this romantic fantasy; you're thinking, 'This can't be true, it's so good! And then, Whoops—wake-up call!'" But she remained by Brady’s side and says the decision to do so "was a blessing, because otherwise I don't think I would have known what he was made of, and he wouldn't have known what I was made of."
It is unknown how Moynahan feels about this comment. Rumor has it that Brady and Bundchen tied the knot in California first before having an official ceremony in Brazil because Moynahan wouldn’t allow Brady to take their child out of the country. Only time will tell how these two women decide to deal with each other when it comes to raising the boy but it looks like Gisele plans to be present and accounted for in the child’s life.
