It’s official: Madonna is adopting another adorable Malawian baby! Mercy James, 3, will be the newest addition to Madonna’s family and will be the second child Madonna has adopted from the country, joining brother David Banda, also 3, who was adopted in 2006.  An official from the ministry of Gender and Child Development went on to explain that the little girl is from "Mchinji Home of Hope orphanage. She has no father and mother, they both died...We finished the assessment yesterday in readiness for the courts next week."

Madonna’s romantic trials and tribulations were almost a deal breaker for the adoption. An official from Malawi's Ministry of Women and Child Welfare Development explained, "Our official policy is that we do not encourage our children to be sent into broken homes. Her relationships may negatively affect the adoption of Mercy." Madonna has had quite a few issues of the heart recently, from her divorce from Guy Ritchie last year to her highly publicized romances with 22-year-old model Jesus Luz and baseball star Alex Rodriguez.

Madonna is due in court on Monday. We hope that everything goes like a prayer.
