David Letterman Weds Longtime Girlfriend

It’s evidently wedding season in Hollywood! In addition to Bruce Willis and Natasha Bedingfield getting married this past weekend and Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford set to tie the knot, it appears that the wedding bug has bitten another celebrity. Late night talk show host David Letterman wed longtime girlfriend and mother of his son, Regina Lasko, last week. After, in his own words, he "avoided getting married for ... 23 years," Letterman finally relented and the couple wed at the courthouse in Choteau, Montana this past Thursday. Joking with his audience, Letterman said the wedding almost didn’t happen because the couple’s truck got stuck in the mud on the way to the ceremony. Letterman joked, "So I get out of the truck and I walk two miles back to the house into a 50 mph wind. It's not Beverly Hills, it's Montana, for God's sakes. And the whole way, I'm thinking, 'See, smartass? See? See? You try to get married, this is what happens.'" Evidently, the truck became unstuck because the couple is now legally wed.

Letterman said of not marrying for such a long time: "I had avoided getting married pretty good sic for, like, 23 years, and ... honestly, whether this happened or not, I secretly felt that men who were married admired me -- like I was the last of the real gunslingers." Well, it looks like one of the original gunslingers has hung up his belt for a wedding ring. Congratulations to the happy couple!
