Despite rumors of his demise, the two continue to live life to the fullest.
The Daily Mail reports that over the weekend, the two, along with an unidentified friend, enjoyed a day of car shopping in Los Angeles. Swayze, 56, partook in popcorn (and unfortunately, cigarettes) as Niemi and the friend laughed and joked with the salesman at the car dealership.
"It's amazing to me that the tabloids such as the National Enquirer print such negative stories about me and my health when there are so many positive things going on in my life right now."
Among those positive things are a new round of chemotherapy that he's been responding well to, a brand new 12-week-old Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy named Kumasai, enthusiastic reaction to his A&E series Beast, and an inspirational memoir that he and Niemi are in the midst of penning together.
The book, which will be published by Atria Books, will focus on his life, as well as their marriage and her experience caring for him since his January 2008 diagnosis.
The Dirty Dancing and Ghost star concluded saying, "I hope in the future, the press will think twice about printing inaccuracies and painting an unpleasant picture when I have so much to be thankful for at this time."
