Ah, the drama of primetime soaps: catfights, evil twins, backstabbing. Sometimes it appears that the drama can spill off the set as well. A rep for Nicollette Sheridan has confirmed that the actress will be leaving ABC’s hit drama Desperate Housewives and the rumor mill is flying as to whether the star’s diva behavior caused writer Marc Cherry to end her run on the show. Sheridan, who plays man-hungry Edie Britt, has evidently been written out of the show with Cherry revealing that Sheridan's character will have a moral issue that "will have devastating consequences for her and lead to a shocking conclusion to her time on Wisteria Lane."
Does this leave her more time to play the field? The actress ended her engagement to longtime on-again now off-again love, singer Michael Bolton, and has been seen around town with actor/comedian/Hollywood blonde magnet David Spade. Does this give the sexy star more time to get amorous and play the field? One can only hope that more time off the set gives the blonde more time to perfect the art of fooling around. We’ll see if she winds up being a housewife but something tells us Nicollette may never be desperate.
