Portia lets us in on some little tiffs in a new interview.
Stars, they’re just like us! Ever wonder if star couples argue over housekeeping details? Yep, they do. In a forthcoming interview with Ladies’ Home Journal (out March 10) Portia de Rossi comes clean on the little things she does that make Ellen DeGeneres slightly crazy. Evidently, it comes down to a messy tea habit. Portia explains, "I do leave half-finished beverages everywhere. I usually have three cups of tea going at once. I'm Australian. That's what we do. I was going to thank her in our vows, for picking up all the glasses -- and say that she'd have to do that for the rest of her life. She took that on. But she's very good about it."
Portia does go on to say that the happiest day of her life is the day she and Ellen got married and admits that she’s considered giving up working at some point because she’s in so much domestic bliss, stating, "I don't need to be on camera. I'm not a workaholic. I love to spend time with my wife, my family, my animals. We're looking for the right place to have a farm. Someplace like Massachusetts or Nantucket, with seasons. We could get an 1800s farmhouse with land and rescue animals. Then I'm done."
So it sounds like Ellen and Portia might look for a chance to escape the Hollywood life and make a clean break for the country. Despite their differences, the happy couple seems pretty blissful to have found each other, something we wish for all of you. We're big fans of Ellen and Portia around here, naming them one of our favorite celebrity couples of 2008. Guess it kind of fun being married to a smart, fun Cover Girl, isn't it, Portia?
