In real life, one month may not seem like an adequate amount of time to be dating someone before deciding to embark on a formal engagement. But in D-list celebrity world, four weeks is almost the equivalent of three hundred years.

Consider Carmen Electra. In only nine days she did more than just get engaged to Dennis Rodman, she also married and then divorced him. And then there's Britney Spears. It took her even less time than Carmen and Dennis to exchange vows and cut ties with childhood friend Jason Alexander — 55 hours to be exact.

Thus, it should come as no surprise that Geri Halliwell (a.k.a. Ginger Spice) has come to the conclusion, after only a month, that the Italian guy she's been snogging is the man she's destined to spend the rest of eternity with.

In any event, the whole thing is very serious. And we're not just saying that because he gave her a £220,000 diamond ring (any rich guy can do that). We're saying it because of a bigger, more sobering fact: that Geri told George Michael.

According to Channel 4 News, the former Spice Girl informed the former Wham! front man of the impending nuptials on Saturday night while all three were dining at London's E&O restaurant.

If we're not mistaken, it doesn't get any more serious than telling George Michael himself about your engagement. In fact, doing so is almost like adding another nine years onto your relationship. Or, if you're a regular person, roughly seventeen minutes.

At this rate, we can only presume their marriage will last forever.
