Sarah Palin Becomes Hockey (Grand)Mom
Tripp Palin makes Alaska governor a grandmother.

Briston Palin, the 18-year-old daughter of former-V.P. candidate Sarah Palin, gave birth to a baby boy early last Saturday. Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston is the first grandchild of the Alaska governor and her "first dude" husband, Todd.
Bristol's out-of-wedlock pregnancy caused a media tidal wave last fall amidst an existing grade-A storm of attention surrounding John McCain's ever-curious hockey-mom-turned-governor running mate. In contrast, with the election a fading memory, the baby's birth has occurred with much less fanfare.
People reports that 7 lb., 7 oz. Tripp was born at 5:30am on Saturday. The Palin family has yet to release any official statements or images, but a family member told the magazine: "The baby is fine and Bristol is doing well. Everyone is excited."
The Palin family, already rife with uncommon first names, has an additional "Tr" name in the mix. Tripp's name, normally used like "Trey" as a nickname for men who are the third "William" or "George" in their families, fits in well with his uncles Track, 19, and Trig, 8 months.
Bristol and Tripp's father, fellow high school student, Levi Johnston, have plans to marry in 2009.
