Hi Elizabeth, I couldn't agree more. When I work as a matchmaker, I help my client's learn how to turn their friends and family into mini-matchmakers in their lives (that is as long as they like their taste). I believe it is better to have many eyes looking for your most perfect match, especially people who know you.
Thanks for the comment,

I think this presupposes that your family has your best interest in mind and isn't so caught up in their own problems and hang ups and drama that they can't advocate for you.
I would not trust my family to make a match for me. In fact, when I brought my then fiancee home, a nice, smart, hardworking handsome kind man, my mom thought of every reason to NOT like him. We've been married almost 4 years now, and are happier than ever. Meanwhile, my parents marriage is declining. I wouldn't have trusted their advice.
