Can’t Wear Heels Because Of His Height

He's 5' 10, you're 5' 9" and when you put on your sexy heels you tower over him.  So, do you wear flats for the rest of your relationship? Do you care? Does he care? How do you handle it?

WHO CARES HOW TALL YOU ARE.WHEN YOUR MAN IS LAYING NEXT TO YOU IN BED WHO CARES HOW TALL YOU ARE. SOME OF MY BEST LOVERS HAVE BEEN MEN SHORTER THAN ME.

I think you should get over it. I'm almost three inches taller than my boyfriend (I'm nearly 6 feet tall) and he's the love of my life. I wore flats the first time I met any of his friends but otherwise, I wear what I like. I love high heeled shoes and only own 2 pairs of flats. I'm tall, people either get over it or move on.

I totally agree with Is497. Although why did you wear flats when you met his friends?

I wore flats because I knew it would bother him if I wore heels. He's never dated anyone taller than him before and only dated one woman who was his height. I'm letting him get used to my heel collection. I don't wear them very much anyways.

It intimidates guys if you are too much taller than them, but they do like a girl in heels because of the sexy legs.

I have a good pair of shoes that make my calves look good, but don't add that much height. I love them, perfect for those testy height situations.

I actually don't like her taller than me. I know sexist, right. but there is something sexy about a girl leaning up to kiss me.

But a tall girl is powerful. I think that is really sexy.

yeah that is sexist. if height is what is your turn on you need different priorities.

Not true. Its about biology and something about having a girl look up into your eyes. Super romantic.

I agree. Its great.

oh come on, its science, we all like to feel physically comforted and protects.

Tall girls are sexy. I don't care if a girl in heels is taller than me.

Call me old fashioned, but I don't like being taller than my hubby. It looks awkward in pictures. I wear low heels.

It any man told me not to wear heels because I was too tall, I'd dump him. Fortunately, women don't say this to other women. That why I am dating a woman.

I like a tall woman. It's sexy.

you have to embrace your height and when i say your height, i mean all of your height. When you wear flats, when your hair is a certain way, when you weaar heels, etc. some men find it extremely attractive and embrace a taller woman even if he is not shorter than you. if your man says he doesn't mind you having a couple of inches on him on our wedding day. Who cares. Wear 4 inch heels and embrace it and just enjoy your wedding.

this is an interesting topic. particularly for me, as i'm engaged, and i'm deciding what shoes to wear to the wedding. i'm about three inches shorter than my fiancee, but i really want to wear heels. the problem is that i also want to be able to look up at him when we're dancing and i don't want to be taller than him in pictures.

i know it sounds stupid--in fact, it *is* stupid--but i can't shake the idea that it'll feel wrong if we're the same height. and yeah, i could wear 2 inch heels, but his shoes will have a sole, and with my veil and flowers or whatever i have in my hair will add height... he doesn't care about this at all--i've asked him. and none of my friends are sympathetic either. and i do know it's silly, but i'm not sure what i want to do!!!

It doesn't matter if its stupid. Its what you want. I think there are shoes out there you can find that will give you a little lift but still keep you short enough to look up at him. You could switch shoes halfway through the wedding. Have heels for the ceremony and flats for the reception so you can look up at him when you dance. Also, there are some beautiful flats out there my SIL had some gorgeous lace ones. Even though her mom flipped because she thought they looked "informal" ...moms....

:) The things that seem important now -- height, for example -- really aren't! I promise. Kindness, generosity hold court over size!

Posted: Thu, 09/25/2008 - 2:18pm

Dump him! It will always be on your mind.

Posted: Thu, 09/25/2008 - 10:36am

Ha that is so harsh! If you have such an issue with height than why would you be attracted to someone shorter - or so close in height- in the first place?

Posted: Fri, 09/26/2008 - 9:05am

This is the worst! I'm 5'7 (and a half, if you want to get technical) but I feel like a giant every where I go. Is it me, or are guys getting shorter? I thought I was average, but apparently I was wrong! I don't even look at high heels because I know I will tower over practically every guy I come in contact with.

ya know, one of my bestest friends is 5'10" and her boyfriends have always been these short lil dudes. now some of them were so insecure with their height that they would pitch a fit if she wore even a slight heel on her shoe. However she has AMAZING LEGS and it killed me to see her not wear some beautiful pumps just because it damaged his ego... i say screw em! look beautiful and if that means wearing heels tell shortie to deal with it!!!!!

Posted: Thu, 02/05/2009 - 9:54am

I am 5' 7" and 3/4 and I always wear flats...but only because they are more comfortable.
