Our first date was an afternoon at the New York Public Library. I'm not kidding! We each rounded up several books and then we sat down and leafed through each others' choices, talked about why we picked our respective books, and went off on about six-hundred different tangents. It was great, especially since, uh, we're both big nerds. That said, our first "real" date was at a jazz club in NYC -- he found a place that gave free swing dance lessons. It's cute, because it set a precedent for our relationship: now, whenever we're in a new city, we try to find a bar that gives (some type of) ballroom dance lessons. We've done swing, salsa, and we recently decided that we love the tango ("tango"! Awesome.), and are going to try to perfect that. And, yes, we are totally that couple that starts slow dancing in the middle of a rave, or on the street corner, or in a fast-food restaurant... |

i am glad so many people are interested in the dramatic arts.. a play is a good first date. i personally want to go on a firs date that could involve lots of talking. art galleries are great, or museums. go buy a vinyl and bring it back to listen to with them! (right so this will never happen) BUT my best dates (and 1st) have involved the great outdoors: trekking a trail, swimming at the river, canoeing. |

on our first official date my fiancee took me to breakfast. it was nothing special, but it was nice because there was no pressure about going home with each other after wards. and since it was day time it felt more low key. and even though i was nervous and excited i didn't drink too much, since it was brunch. so i recommend brunch. |
