Someone once told me that however long you dated your ex is how long you should wait before getting back into the game. But after breaking up with a college boyfriend I dated for six months, I got back into the game the next hour and never looked back. Is there a good rule of thumb when deciding when to get back into the game? How do you know when you're ready?
I don't think you can put a time period on it. Imagine a year long marriage versus a year long casual boyfriend... or a month-long long distance relationship versus a month-long relationship with someone you see every day. It seems as though one might take longer to get over than the other!
Your ready to get back in the dating game when the prospect of long lonely nights and haning out in bars trying to finding a date sounds more fun than spending another minute with him.
For me, I need closure to beat me over the head with a large stick. So, whether through constant discussion with friends or the ex is usually how it happens. Exhausting but necessary!
When do you get back in the dating game? I guess once you're through drunk dialing your ex boyfriend of 4 years, you'll know that you're ready to move on.
