Non-Traditional Bride?
This mag's for you.

But we're talking truly non-traditional (not, I think I'm going to wear ivory instead of white *gasp* non-traditional). A new magazine, With This Ring, is gearing up to address brides and weddings of the gay, interracial, interfaith, and with-child types. And anyone else who feels a little out of the box when it comes to saying I do.
A testament to equality and commitment, With This Ring is an all-inclusive publication that offers fashion, legal, political, relationship, and workplace coverage. It appears to be in prototype format "not yet on the stand" but with pieces such as interviews with San Fran mayor Gavin Newsom and the perfect dress for the pregnant bride, we're already on board.

The bride wore a black dress with painted calla lilies that belonged to her grandmother. The wedding was in a pub run by an expat Irishman. No consultant. No bridesmaids. No ushers. No rings. We picked up the food the morning of the wedding - barbecue, Middle Eastern and a dozen cheesecakes. Decoration was vines, no flowers. A friend took snapshots.
Everyone filed in and sat at tables. We got up and said our vows. Everyone had lunch. The band that was setting up that afternoon played a few numbers for us out of sentiment.
Total cost? About $3000.
Fun? Meaningful? Hell, yes.
Fashionable? Not a bit.
Memorable? Friends still hold it up as an example.
