New research suggests that heterosexual women are equally turned on by men and women, reports The New York Times. It's not gender, says Dr. Meredith Chivers, but the degree of sensuality, in the new documentary, "Bi the Way."

Researchers have spent more than 10 years trying to pinpoint arousal differences between straight, gay, and bisexual individuals. Whereas gay men tend to be aroused by same-sex imagery, women are aroused by both.

Which brings us to Lindsay. The elusive LL. The world seems to be transfixed by her possibly lesbian tendencies with Samantha Ronson. Some suspect her mother is keeping her in the closet, others theorize she's going through her passing bi phase, like any college-age girl. Dr. Chivers does suggest that rather than falling into the "gay' or "straight" category, fall instead on a spectrum.

Culling all of this together, that would seem to make sense seeing as women are sexually aroused by action rather than gender.

Oh, the one thing women are not aroused by? Naked men walking, skipping stones, or doing any other non-sexual activity. Arousal activity matched that of landscapes. Got that right.

I have to say, there is something to that. When I read it, I immediately thought of those weird firefighter calendars, with the muscular guys perched on the truck, sans shirt. Ugh. Really, there's nothing sexual about that to me. Maybe men, who seem to have more of a penchant for 2-D porn mags, calendars, etc. use their imagination more?
