I guess it depends on where you are because I get ignored if I don't wear make up, which is most of the time. (99%)
When I put up pics of myself with make up on I get comments like "you're pretty" or "you're hot" or whatever. When I have my normal picture, I can hear crickets in the background.
So either I need to find these guys or they're lying sacks of you know what...
As for girls wearing junk for one another? TOTALLY TRUE!! We're such vile vultures. We're constantly looking at other women going, yeah, I look so much better!
(well, until you grow up, like me and then you no longer care who's wearing what.)
But I still hear it from other women. OMG I can't believe she's wearing that!! Ewww, what WAS she thinking!! Stuff like that.
Do you know it's WOMEN who think I should wear more make up? (You'd look prettier if you just wore... (insert product.)) My men friends don't really care.
But again, my men friends are gay and/or just friends...
I think they're being a little disinegnuous. They all have looks of disgust on their faces, but they really do like it whem women wear make-up: just not too much. They should admit at least that, and not posture with all their guy friends about how "disgusting" and "expensive" make-up is.
I get much more attention from guys when I'm wearing some make-up than when i wear none, which tells me (1) that men do notice when you're wearing make-up, and (2) they like what they see. They certainly don't turn away in disgust!
As for their comment about us wearing make-up for other women? That's a convenient excuse that can absolve them owning responsibility for the things we do that they actually like, but don't want to admit. At the same time, men have no problem moaning about that fact they buy expensive tailored clothes, cologne, the right shoes, a pricey car, etc. all to get women's attention - as if to say "we do this all for you - why don't you notice it?" Just seems weird and disingenuous.
I can't relate to these guys at all. I'm a guy and my opinion on make up is very different, I don't know, maybe I'm one of the few but here is my take on it. Women without make up is like a cake with no frosting. It's not to say that the person can't still look somewhat good without it depending on the woman but.. Women come alive when they put make up on. They feel sexy about themselves because they took that time to doll up a bit and it shows in their step when they walk. I'm not talking coated on so thick that you need a chisel to get it off later ladies, I'm talking about a bit of color and lip gloss on the lips, a bit of color around the eyes and face and WOW you look great.
Wear that make up ladies, some guys really appreciate the effort that you put into it when you do.
Thank you for the reply Lyz. First thing I must say is that I don't expect/demand that someone I'm with wear make up. If she wore make up just for me then it would not do anything for either one of us. I would like to find someone who likes to wear make up because they choose to and it makes them feel good to do it. If they do that, it shows, just as if they do anything just for another person, it spoils things. Hopefully my first comment did not come off as being brash towards women however I know exactly what I find appealing and I can't relate at all to guys who say to women that make up is a bad thing.
Yes I do put just as much effort into my appearance but I don't live in front of a mirror either. I make sure I keep myself groomed, make sure that I take the extra time to smell good, (I support the makers of Axe body sprays) lol keep toe and finger nails trimmed and so forth, hair clean, breath fresh etc. To do anything less in my opinion as a man says two things.
1. I would not think to much of myself as a person, not care enough to put any extra effort in.
2. It conveys to a person that I would date or be in a relationship with that I didn't really care enough about what they felt either and just let myself go.
The beauty of it, no matter if for women or for us men is that it really don't take that much time to do. Sure it takes a bit of effort but don't you ladies think it's worth it for both sexes ?

Guys say they like when girls don't wear makeup but REALLY what you like is when a girl can skillfully wear make up and make herself look naturally beautiful.
All of those stars who look like they are beautiful the moment they roll out of bed are very much wearing make up... they just have skilled make up artists who make them look naturally flawless.
Okay, since I'm a guy I'll throw in my two cents in on this.
I don't like make-up either. A couple people mentioned earlier that it hides beauty. I tend to agree. For me, a woman who wears make-up is insecure about her own natural beauty. If a man can't see THAT in her then he is the WRONG man for her. Granted, there are some ladies that do look decent with a bit of make-up on but for the most part natural beauty is the way to go. Some people say that women want to look good for their man: guess what...you ALREADY do. Why mar that with some fake garbage? Be yourself, look natural. Guys will appreciate that.
A few other ladies have said things like (and I'm paraphrasing) "men want their lady to be the best looking one in the room". Yes, and no. I want my lady to be the best looking one to ME. I could give two dimes about the other guys (or gals for that matter). If a lady is with me then she is already the best looking one. She doesn't need to hide herslef underneath fake stuff.
One other person mentioned the difference in being viewed with/w out make-up. She's right on that one. A lot of the men that I hang out with (I'm in the military) also appreciate natural beauty and notice the au natural look more than the make-up look. As a matter of fact, we have one gal here that wears a ton of make-up and looks like a slut. Well, turns out we were right.
I would say the way to look best to me is to only wear just enough makeup to cover your largest facial blemishes. If you have a bright red pimple, go ahead and put on some makeup, but if I can tell a girl has makeup on from a distance I would think that they are insecure about their own beauty; same goes for girls that have other fake add ons. A girl that is confident with her own body and can do just enough to accentuate her naturally good looks (and only a few girls that are healthy don't have natural beauty) is far better in my opinion, than someone who looks perfect.
have any of you been taught by anyone that you can use au naturual make up such as no concealor cause thats hiding nd just use make up to make ur best features pop.
Make up is defintly over rated 95% of the time i do not wear make up and i get plenty of attenton i think personally natural beauty is the best and i perfer to be that way!!! not sayng when i go out with my girlfriends we dont get made up!! but that does not happen very ofton... so i agree natural is the best!!
A lot of guys will say that they like women who don't wear make-up (and sometimes they mean it) but wehn you go out, its the girl who's made up the most who gets the most attention. It's very much a say-one-thing-act-another deal and everyone knows that actions speak louder than words.
come on guys, dont be too hard on women who likes to paint their faces it's not that bad as what you think, or as long as its not over done.. and gals let's admit it we sometimes go over board when applying it.. sometimes less is more beautiful.. and guys dont deny it, you want your gal to be one one of the good looking gal in the room if not the best....

I'd rather be fake on the outside than fake on the inside (like, 80% of men ARE FAKE ON THE INSIDE just to get something that they CANNOT HAVE!!!)

make up n perfume are important, when your woman takes care of herself for you it's because she loves u and wants to be attractive.

I don't wear makeup at all except for chocolate flavored lip gloss every once in a while(yum) and chap stick so my lips don't crack >.>
I only wear makeup for special occasions and that's IT -.- If you wear it every day it becomes something casual, like it's not special in any way anymore.
I only put on eyeliner on the inside rims and mascara. Everything else is pointless in my opinion
i dont wear make up at all. i just wear it on special occasion...but going outside and wear makeup hello..that is too much.
my math teacher once said "what's with teenagers wearing makeup??? don't you know that when you wear make up..you're admitting that your ugly" which is true.

I do get what you're saying but I personally take makeup as a form of expression. I sometimes think of my face as a canvas and there are so many ways I can express myself through color and shape. Thy not take advantage of it?
I think in a lot of cases it has absolutely nothing to do with admitting you're ugly. I wear makeup but when it comes off I know I'm still a beautiful person. I appreciate myself with and without makeup and I appreciate my friends both ways too. Makeup is for fun.
I never ever Wear make up. Once in a while I'll wear Eyeliner but that's it. I guess it's cuz I Have the Natural Look. idk

i think make-up should usually stay light and concentrate more on just making your skin nice naturally then covering up. For occasions, more make up is nice.
I don't typically wear make up, but when I do, it's just a little eye shadow, when I'm feeling pretty. I always thought this was backwards, since most women wear make up to feel pretty. It's taken me some time (and this vid confirmed it), but I've realized that men don't go for the make up. It's about natural beauty and the personality that shines through. I know some not go great looking people that don't look that bad because they're such great people inside.

And make-up...I donno, some women have too much of it, but people just have to realize that makeup isnt necessarily to change appearance, it is more to enhance it. But if you think a girl looks great without it, then thats wonderful!

when i dont wear make-up, ppl notice me more. but when i do wear make-up (and im thinking, yeah i look the bomb) i get ignored. i guess its cause every other women is wearing make-up, so it just makes us all look alike.
