The third year's the charm when it comes to men and marriage readiness.
A recent poll revealed that British men generally pop the question after dating a
woman for three years. Or, two years, 11 months and eight days, to be exact.
Curiously, women feel ready for marriage an average four months earlier than their blokes. In fact, ten percent of women in the UK decide to propose themselves.

This three-year mark must be working for the Brits. The 2006 divorce rate in England fell to the lowest in nearly two decades -- just 1.2 percent of the population.
