If you want to do something creative and fun for your proposal- do it! If you want to do something low key, that is great as well.
I think it has more to do with your personality. Some people have giant 40th birthday bashes with 100 people- some peole celebrate with a cake at home. One is not better than the other.
I myself was proposed to while on vacation in Spain and I love that we were across the world sharing the romantic moment. That 9 day trip probably cost around $6,000. So I don't think it is any different to do something really fun, romantic and colorful for your proposal here in the city.
To be honest 15 k to put on a show sounds pretty darn reasonable. What a fun memory!
i disagree. if a man throws down major money, it proves that he loves you. if it's going to be more dramatic with the help of a planner, more power to them.
