Twins Separated At Birth Are Married And Annulled
Separated at birth, twins fell in love, got married, and the annulled.
According to a British paper, The Metro, a couple recently received an annulment because they were unwittingly related. The couple, whose names will remain safely anonymous, is twins separated at birth. They met and fell in love. No word as to what made them realize that they are related. We’re not sure if blood tests are required in the UK or not, but if these kind of mistaken identity cases persist, they should be.
There was a Chris Klein (former boyf of Katie Holmes, starred in American Pie) movie called Say It Isn’t So that had a similar plot. It was like a two-hour version of Three’s Company, you know, lots of misunderstandings. Not to talk out of school, but we’re pretty sure that Chris Klein and Heather Graham ended up not being related but it was fairly touch-and-go.
The most famous case of fictional twins reuniting and almost making a big, weird mistake involves the Skywalker twins, Luke and Leia. Sure, they smooched a couple of times but no one ever really mentions it. It makes you wonder if George Lucas had it all along that they were brother and sister. And, after blowing up the Death Star, did they ever tell the galaxy that they were twins? And did anyone ever connect the dots between their father Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader? If so, was that a black cloud hanging over their heads? “Oh, thanks and everything for defeating tyranny and restoring the good Jedi name but we don’t feel comfortable around you. Too many bad, choking memories.” And if that news didn’t (we use past tense because it was ‘a long time ago’) public knowledge, was someone blackmailing them with it? It seems like there were too many people involved for no one to know. Granted a lot of the people that knew were clones and who would really listen to something that a clone said?
In summary, be really, really careful when someone that you find attractive sort of looks like you, has the same allergies, and is roughly as smart as you are. This is a particular concern if you are adopted. The incest you prevent could be your own.
