The NBC Universal pop-culture cable network has greenlighted a pilot for Take My Ex , an hour-long reality show in which divorced folks find mates for their ex-spouses. Each episode would focus on a recently divorced pair, documenting their better days and their current strife and then tasking each with finding a better mate for the other.
The pilot, currently in development, comes from Sam Mettler, the creator/executive producer of A&E's Intervention , a show in which addicts are confronted on their problems by their loved ones.

Take my wife, please (bu-dum-pah!). This is an interesting idea for a reality show. Who knows your strengths and weaknesses better than an ex? This show has a high potential for drama. What happens when exes remember what they liked about their former mate? Do they sabotage their effort meet someone new in hopes of reconciliation? What happens when exes remember what they didn’t like about their former lovers? Do they sabotage their effort to meet someone new in hops of twisting the knife? Lots of potential for sabotage. Lots of potential for dirty laundry to be aired. Lots of potential for love?
