First off, we are seriously considering shortening girlfriend and boyfriend to girlf and boyf, like Sky News. Imagine how much of your life you could save by clipping those last five letters. Next, is there a little bit of suspicion that every romantic move Gyllenhall makes is to counter his Brokeback image? ‘Just because I played a gay American doesn’t mean I am one’, his every move seems to shout. However, if this is on the level, without ulterior marketing motive, it’s great news. Is there a more affable pairing of two Hollywood stars? Just call them Mr. and Mrs. America’s Sweeth.
