1 1/2 cups vodka
10 cloves
10 cardamom pods
2 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks
1 (2-inch) piece fresh ginger, peeled
Zest of 1 orange
1 (750-ml) bottle inexpensive red wine
1/2 cup sugar
