In the hormone-loaded, rejection-ridden world of reality dating shows, there are many variations on the old boy-meets-girl/girl-meets-boy scenario:
Dashing boy meets lots of girls -- "The Bachelor." Scorned girl meets lots of boys -- "I Love New York." Bisexual girl meets 10 boys and 10 girls -- "A Shot at Love With Tila Tequila."
And now, transgender girl meets eight boys who know, from the get-go, that their would-be lover was not always a lady -- "Transamerican Love Story."
Whew. Thank goodness that the guys on the show know that the lady is a post-op transgender. We can imagine a scene from The Crying Game unfolding at the season finale. And then one dude on the show tries to play it off like he doesn’t care, one dude is sort of into it, six dudes drop off the face of the Earth, and two dudes go on a murderous rampage. “Uh, I didn’t even think to ask why Logo would be shooting a heterosexual dating show. I just wanted everyone back in my hometown to know how cool I am. I did not see this coming.” And furthermore, the Calpernia Addams story is crazy. She was a closeted sailor in the Navy during Gulf War 1 and her gay partner, an Army Private, was discovered and beaten to death. We hope this show makes it; it’s got to be waaaay better than Shot Of Love.
Speaking of Shot Of Love, The New York Post’s Page Six is reporting that Tila Tequila is not actually single. Nor is she a bisexual. Sure, she’s kissed a few girls here and there but what tattooed party girl hasn’t? Frankly, we’re shocked. When we think Tila Tequila, we think integrity. We will not believe anything we see or read on MySpace again.
