From The Sun
IT'S certainly one way to crack the States.
DAVID and Victoria Beckham have stripped off for the cover of America's W Magazine - with even racier pictures and chat inside.
She said: "I'm not going to lie. It was a really tough time.
"It was a hard time for our entire families. But David and I got through it together.
"No one said marriage was going to be easy.
"Yes, there have been bumps along the road. But the fact is we've come out of everything we've been through stronger and happier.
Those Beckhams know every trick in the book. They’ve done sexy, they’ve done matching outfits (British word for the day: Chav – noun, one who confuses ostentatiousness with classiness), they’ve been powerful and now they’re trying humble. Brilliant. They know that America loves to see the vulnerable side of their stars. Becks and Posh aren’t all shiny white teeth, tanned, taut skin and animal print; they have feelings. Appearing aloof and keeping a stiff upper lip are not things that we really appreciate on this side of the pond. We had wondered if Beckham’s metrosexuality was going to be cool much longer, but after seeing their photo shoot in W, we're pretty sure they'll be aight. And the Spice Girls; America had a love affair with the Spice Girls. We think that their ‘girl power’ brand of sexiness opened the way for a lot of things to come later. Weren’t 1996-1997 (the apex of Spice Girl mania) simpler times? Brilliant work by Posh bringing us back to those times. Maybe America could get used to soccer. As long as you can drink beer while you watch and maybe wear a jersey, we should be good.
