From The New York Post’s Page Six

June 25, 2007 -- JUST as David beat Goliath, upstart OK! has given People a knuckle sandwich in the ongoing weekly-celebrity-magazine wars.
Sources said People "laid the groundwork" for landing exclusive photos of Eva Longoria and Tony Parker's July 7 wedding - but Page Six has learned that OK! won the frenzied bidding. Sources close to the negotiations said OK! paid more than $2 million.
It was a surprising - and costly - end to the battle for the privilege to snap the nuptials, which the "Desperate Housewives" hottie and her San Antonio Spur fiancé plan to hold in a romantic castle in Paris.
This is not going to end well. When Liz Hurley sold the rights to her weddings photos that meant no pictures from guests either. It did not go over well. Maybe she’s a fantastic self-promoter (if you’re not going to do it, who will?), but sometimes we think Tony Parker would appreciate if she stopped talking and doing stuff. There was a rumor that they were flying a cake in from California that he had to quash. The French take their pastries and baking very seriously. It would have been a slap in the face of an entire nation if she brought that cake (or so the logic must go). What’s next? South African champagne? Argentine wine? Dunkin’ Donuts croissandwiches? No one can really complain about a $2 million pay-out though. We haven’t heard a reliable figure on the total cost of the wedding, but we imagine that $2 million would probably cover it. Not bad for the reigning NBA Finals MVP and a popular cast member on a once-hot television ensemble.

50 Cent and Ciara were supposed to be ‘together’ at last night’s BET Awards. This would be a serious change of type for both artists. 50 (nee Curtis Jackson) typically has a thing for older ladies. He’s been linked with Vivica A. Foxx and was supposedly hooked up with a soap star Victoria Rowell. These women are 11 and 15 years his senior, respectively. Ciara is about 10 years younger than the almost 32 year-old rapper. She was last linked with Bow Wow. Sure he’s no longer L’il, but Bow Wow is a far cry from the bulletproof vest-wearing Fitty. Best of luck. The supposedly $100 million payout that 50 got from his VitaWater deal will help make a nice life for them. We’re not sure if they are an item for real, but we do know that his performance last night was a little under his usual standard. Check out the video for what we mean.
