Sia Leaked This Nude Pic Of Herself On Twitter So A Creep Couldn't Make Money Off Of Her Body

She's such a badass.

Why Sia Shared Her Own Nude Photo On Twitter And Instagram Instagram

As some who experienced the horror of being threatened with having her (nearly) nude photos shared online, I know firsthand how terrifying and deeply violating it is to know that without your knowledge or consent, images of your naked body might suddenly surface in the news feeds of your friends, family, colleagues and complete strangers.

So I can only imagine the range of emotions that must have come over Sia, the magically gifted singer and songwriter known not only for her extraordinary talents and her giant heart, but for only slightly less giant black and white wig underneath which she typically keeps her face and private persona tucked neatly and gently away, when facing such a threat from a complete stranger trying to sell a picture of Sia's naked body.

Unfortunately, someone in possession of this photograph of Sia's naked butt thought it would be a grand idea to sell the shot in order to make a quick profit. But Sia — who mini-Sia Maggie Ziegler has called "the goofiest person [she's] ever met" — is having the last laugh on this one...

Majestically, the 41-year-old Australian singer took to Twitter and shared the photo in question herself!

The photo, which appears to have been taken from a distance using a hidden paparazzi lens, was topped off with a cheerful caption:

"Somebody is apparently trying to sell naked photos of me to my fans,” she wrote on Twitter. “Save your money, here it is for free. Everyday is Christmas!”

In 2016, Sia appeared in an outstanding segment of Carpool Karaoke on the Late, Late Show with James Cordon, during which she explained the reason for her over-the-top (and over-her-face) hair pieces.

"I was a singer for 10 or 11 years to mediocre success. I was an alcoholic and a drug addict. I sobered up, and I decided I didn't want to be an artist anymore because I was starting to get a little bit famous and it was destabilizing in some way. I thought, What doesn't exist in pop music at the moment?' And it was mystery. I was like, there's pictures on Instagram of everyone at the dentist."

At the time there were certainly photos of Sia's face available online for those of curious enough to spend just a few minutes on Google to catch a glimpse of what she looks like.

And more recently, Sia has been photographed out and about more and more often without her black and white wig.

In March of 2017, she was captured on film entering LAX Airport.

And just this past month, make-up artist Tonya Brewer shared a photo of Sia sans wig (although with a bright green facial mask) for all of Instagram to enjoy.

And speaking of Instagram, Sia shared the photo of the moment on her account there as well.

In addition to the same caption, the post includes what looks like a message from the person allegedly trying to pawn the pic seems to say, "If you make the purchase it will be unblurred and you will," after which the text is cropped out.

It has been my personal belief and experience that when you are willing to live as your authentic self and own the truth of who you are and the choices you make, threats of uncovering something as material as your body to the public can seldom harm you. That in no way negates the severity of the violation on the part of the person willing to perpetrate such criminal and immoral acts, but as Sia proved just know with her brave, taking-no-sh*t-from-you attitude, taking back your own power from a person who is out to profit monetarily or otherwise from your misfortune is the absolute best place to start.

Bravo, Sia. Bravo.
